Squad Criteria

Pre-Development

To attend 70% of sessions available to them per month. To participate in all training activities to the best of their ability. To focus on developing the basic skills within the four main strokes, starts and turns. To compete in inter-club galas and once they turn 9 years old to experience level 3 open meets. To participate in the Peanuts League if required.

Development 1

To attend 70% of sessions available to them per month. To participate in all training activities with precision, to the best of their ability. To compete in open meets once they have turned 9 years old (unlicenced in-house galas before their 9th birthday) that are appropriate to their ability. To represent the club at the Peanuts League when required.

Development 2

To attend 75% of sessions available to them per month. To participate in all training activities with precision, to the best of their ability. To compete in the open meets targeted by the club (including Club Championships) appropriate to their ability, aiming to achieve county qualifying times in a range of events. To represent the club at the Major Herts League and Peanuts League as well as other team galas as required.

Junior Performance

To attend 75% of sessions available to them per month. To participate in all training activities with precision, to the best of their ability. To compete in all open meets targeted by the club (including Club Championships), covering all distances and strokes. To aim to achieve a full BAGCAT programme at Hertfordshire counties, whilst looking at achieving regional qualifying times in specific events. To represent the club at the Arena league, Major Herts League, Peanuts League and other team galas as required.

Performance

To attend 75% of sessions available to them per month. To participate in all activities in training to the best of their ability. Aims of  competing in a range of open meets including County Championships and Club Champs, aiming at achieving Regional Qualifying times and higher. To represent the club at the Arena League, Major Herts League and other team galas as required.

Masters

To train as and when available. To compete in open meets that they feel are appropriate to their ability. To maintain a relationship with the coaching staff, with regards to what they want to achieve in their swimming. To partake in Club Champs. To represent the club in the Arena league, Major league and other team galas as required.  The Masters squad is competitive, whereas Club squad in general is not.

Club

To train as and when available. To compete in open meets that they feel are appropriate to their ability. To maintain a relationship with the coaching staff, with regards to what they want to achieve in their swimming. To partake in Club Championships. To represent the club in the Arena league, Major league and other team galas as required. Club squad is aimed at swimmers who just wish to come and swim.  There is no formal coaching.
